Obituary for Dale "Gene" Crotts
Dale “Gene” Crotts, 68, of Hutchinson, passed away January 11, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Hutchinson, Kansas. The son of Herbert and Neva Crotts, he was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on May 24, 1949. He was a retired machinist and welder.
He was a man of few words, but always had time to shoot the breeze. He will be remembered as a helping hand – always looking for a problem to solve. To him, no project was ever impossible to tackle.
He married Linda Lewis in 1968 and later married Carol Massey in 1996.
Survivors include his wife Carol, his mother; 1 brother, Norman Crotts of Inman, Kansas; 1 sister, Linda Hiebert of Hutchinson, Kansas; two sons, Dan Crotts of Hutchinson, Kansas, and, Jeremy (Frida) Crotts of Finland; 2 daughters, Gina Searle of Wichita, Kansas, and, Ashleigh (Clint) Harris of Hutchinson, Kansas; 2 step sons, Roy Hendrixson of Hutchinson, Kansas, and, Clay (Jennifer) of Ohio; 15 grandchildren, Jessica, Zachary, Tyler, Weston, Timothy, Hosea, Jeffrey, Emmiley, Karl, Ofelia, Elia, Holden, Carter, Aliza, and, Dahlia; 2 great grandchildren, Alexyss, and, C.J. He was preceded in death by his father.
A gathering for family and friends will be from 3:00 – 4:00 pm, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Old Mission – Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. Casual dress is requested.
